MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration and Innovation, is a nonprofit science and children’s museum in Santa Barbara focused on STEAM learning. Opened on February 25, 2017, near the waterfront between the historic Santa Barbara Train Station and Hotel Indigo, it occupies a 25,000-square-foot building on city land leased for one dollar a year to support access to science exploration. Its bilingual Spanish and English presentation reflects that mission. The museum features about 17,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits, including immersive sound and theater experiences, and has grown into a major cultural and educational institution, drawing more than 167,000 visitors annually and reaching its one-millionth visitor in June 2024.
