Gregory J. Smith, Center Director of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center from 2009 to 2014, was a global leader in wildlife conservation in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He was instrumental in developing this conservation trail to help others appreciate wildlife conservation in North America. His contributions live on through cooperative partnerships in wildlife conservation and awareness among nations across the globe.
