Janice Holt Giles was a talented author whose historical novels sold more than three million copies. The settings of most of her some twenty books reflected her adopted home in the Green River area, where she lived with her husband Henry, and the Indian territory of Oklahoma and Arkansas, where she spent her early years. Her works, noted for action and imagery, include The Enduring Hills and The Believers.
