Ole O. and Anne Enestvedt, Norwegian immigrants, established their homestead in the spring of 1867 near the site of their log and dugout home, shortly after the Indian uprising, and raised nine children on the farm, which remained in the family name: O.O. Jr., a farmer, historian, author, and poet; Jorgine, a Lutheran missionary and teacher in Teller, Alaska; Sophia, a chiropractor in Sacred Heart, Minnesota, and Chicago, Illinois; Christian, a grocer, grain buyer, and banker in Belview, Minnesota; Theodore, a farmer, organizer of cooperatives, land bank director, and civic and community leader; Anna, a teacher who married G.H. Kravik, an inventor and manufacturer of grinding wheels in Everett, Washington; Engebret, a corn breeder, progressive political organizer, and writer; John, a farmer, chiropractor, athlete, and mechanic; and Louise, a teacher of English and Norwegian languages.
