Dillon State Park in Nashport, Ohio, is a 2,285-acre public landscape centered on Dillon Lake and the Licking River, where flood control, recreation, and natural features come together. Named for early settler Moses Dillon, who bought the land in 1803, the area gained importance when the National Road reached nearby Zanesville by 1830. Its modern form followed construction of Dillon Dam by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1961, and the park opened in 1968. Black Hand Sandstone cliffs and ridges help shape the terrain, while the lake, forests, and trails support fishing, boating, camping, wildlife, and other outdoor activities.
