The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane's Browne's Addition is the largest cultural organization in the Inland Northwest. Formerly the Cheney Cowles Museum, it is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. Its campus includes five underground galleries, a café, store, education center, community room, auditorium, outdoor amphitheater, the Center for Plateau Cultural Studies, and a library and archives. Its exhibitions and programs focus on American Indian and other cultures, regional history, and visual art. It also operates the nearby Campbell House, an 1898 residence designed by Kirtland Cutter that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and open for tours.
