Hubert Glacier
Nature
Hubert Glacier lies on the south side of Mount Olympus in Washington's Olympic Mountains, within Olympic National Park. Nestled in a cirque below the mountain's headwall, it is among Olympus's smaller glaciers because its southern exposure receives more sunlight than the larger ice bodies on the north side, including Blue Glacier. It was named for Anna Hubert, the only woman in the party that first ascended Mount Olympus. The glacier begins at about 6,500 feet high on the mountainside, with one branch extending southward upslope, then flows north to roughly 5,600 feet, turns west, and continues to a terminus near 5,000 feet.
