Engine No. 5, nicknamed The Dummy, was built by H.K. Porter of Pittsburgh, PA, a 0-4-OT type with construction number 5980 in November 1917 for Watertown Arsenal in Mass. It was acquired by the Edgemoor and Manetta Railway in 1942 from dealer Birmingham Rail and Locomotive Co. The Edgemoor and Manetta Railway was a short line railroad that ran 2.5 miles from Manetta Mills at Lando, SC, to the Seaboard Interchange at Edgemoor. It was chartered by the state of South Carolina on February 28, 1899, and was owned and operated by Manetta Mills, which was owned by the Heath family. The railroad ceased operations on July 9, 1975. Harry Heath was the third generation of Heaths to serve as president of Manetta Mills and the Edgemoor and Manetta Railway. In 1995, Harry Heath donated Engine No. 5 to the town of Richburg as a conditional gift, and it was moved to its present location at that time.
