Abner Hollister was for many years a magistrate of this town and county, the founder of this village and this church, and he served the church with Christian fidelity as ruling elder from the time of its organization until his death. He was born at Glastonbury, Conn., on Sept. 26, 1782, and died on Mar. 13, 1852.
