Elm & Pine Buildings
Education
1
The small Pine and Elm buildings are the only two buildings left from the Ivyside Amusement Park. The Elm Building was originally the park’s shooting gallery, then housed the chemistry lab in the 1950s and 1960s. After the Science Building was constructed in the 1970s, art studios moved into the Elm Building. Art students remodeled the building’s exterior many times during the 1970s and 1980s, and in 1985 it received a brick casing to match the other campus buildings. The parking lot in front of the Elm Building occupies the former site of the amusement park’s large swimming pool.
