Capt. Thomas Henry Hines enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1861 and served with Brig. Gen. John H. Morgan in 1862-63. He was captured in Ohio with Morgan in July '63, led an escape from Federal prison in November '63, and was a leader of the northwest conspiracy in '64. He was termed the most dangerous man of the Confederacy. He served on the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1878 to 1898. Born in 1838, he lived in Bowling Green and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in 1898.
