Barstow, California, has one of the finest surviving examples of California's depot-hotels built around the turn of the 19th century. It is also home to the Route 66 "Mother Road" Museum and the Western American Railroad Museum (W.A.R.M.), and it has been recognized by Hampton Hotels Save-A-Landmark program as a site worth seeing.
