The official stand and the start and finish lines for the fourth, fifth, and sixth Vanderbilt Cup races were here during the series that ran from 1904 to 1910 on the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, the first concrete limited access highway in the United States. The first American car to win the race was the Locomobile in 1908.
