Richmond County lost men and women in the Vietnam War, including Donald Lincoln Covington, Benjamin Tally Dawkins, Jimmie Louis Ellerbe, Lonnie Ellerbe Jr., Thomas Lee Lewis, James Edward McPherson, Billie Grover Russ, William Thomas Waddell, James Arthur Ashecroft, Luther Harris Howard, Noah Leland Smith, Robert Austi Stubblefield, Moss Wiley Barry, and Lonnie Hoopaugh. Their service included the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy, and the dead were remembered with the words, "All Gave Some - Some Gave All."
