The McKean site in Crook County, Wyoming, is an important archaeological site connected to the hunting cultures of the Great Plains. It gave its name to the McKean Complex, a cultural grouping identified through archaeological evidence, and stands as a leading example of that Plains tradition. Often considered alongside contemporary sites such as Signal Butte in Nebraska and the LoDaisKa Site in Colorado, it helps illuminate a broader cultural pattern across the region.
