Charles Alexander Warfield, a Revolutionary War patriot, was a member of the Sons of Liberty, took part in the burning of the brig Peggy Stewart at Annapolis on October 19, 1774, and served as a major in the Elkridge Battalion during the war; his grave is near this site.
