Maverick Mountain Ski Area is an alpine skiing destination in the Beaverhead National Forest of southwestern Montana, near Polaris and off the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway, about 40 miles from Dillon. It offers 24 runs across a full range of difficulty levels, from beginner and intermediate terrain to advanced and expert trails. Its stated terrain mix is 27 percent beginner, 37 percent intermediate, and 18 percent each for advanced and expert skiers. In addition to downhill skiing, the area also includes a network of cross-country trails.
