John Dickinson, known as "The Penman of the Revolution," served in Delaware's colonial and state assemblies and was a member of the Continental Congress, the Annapolis Convention, and the Philadelphia Federal Constitutional Convention. He signed the Articles of Confederation and the Federal Constitution for Delaware, served as Governor of Delaware, and was President of the Second Delaware Constitutional Convention. Born in Maryland in 1732, he died in Wilmington in 1808.
