Colemanville Covered Bridge spans Pequea Creek in Martic Township, Pennsylvania, and remains a working road bridge as well as a preserved part of the state’s covered-bridge heritage. Built in 1856 by James C. Carpenter, it is Lancaster County’s second-longest single-span covered bridge still carrying traffic. Repeated flood damage led to partial rebuildings in 1938 and 1973, and in 1992 Lancaster County completely rebuilt it, raising the bridge six feet and shifting it slightly west to reduce future high-water damage. Its wooden double Burr arch truss, reinforced with steel hanger rods, oak plank deck, and traditional red-and-white finish reflect both durability and historic character.
