From 1953 to 1965, the Milwaukee Braves inspired extraordinary devotion in Milwaukee through consistently great baseball. Over 13 seasons, the team never had a losing season and compiled a 1,146-890 (.563) record. The Braves won National League pennants in 1957 and 1958, and in 1957 they defeated the New York Yankees four games to three to win the World Series. They also became the first National League team to draw more than two million fans in a single season.
