Waterfront Hub for Trade
Industry
Before the Revolutionary War, Donaldson Yeats developed the Settlement at Turner's Creek as a hub for trade. At its peak, it included a shipyard, a tannery, a granary, and a dock for shipping and receiving products. The Sassafras River linked the settlement to the Chesapeake Bay and markets beyond.
