The missile had a range of twenty-five to thirty miles, a speed of Mach 3 or 1,679 miles per hour, and an altitude of 70,000 feet. Its length was 34 feet 10 inches with booster and 21 feet for the missile only, with a weight of 2,455 pounds with booster and 1,000 pounds for the missile only. It measured 12 inches in diameter and had a wingspan of 4 feet 6 inches. Its warhead consisted of three high-explosive fragmentation charges mounted in the nose, center, and aft sections. Guidance was provided by command through electronic computer and radar. Its fuels were solid propellant for the booster and red fuming nitric acid for the missile.
