Founded in 1978, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming preserves and interprets the history of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and the broader American West. Its collections center on the long-running rodeo celebration while also presenting horse-drawn vehicles, local history, pioneer artifacts and clothing, and Western and folk art that connect the rodeo to everyday life in Wyoming and the High Plains. The museum also houses the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame, honoring the people, livestock, and organizations behind the event’s endurance since 1897, and it preserves important objects and stories linked to figures such as Clayton Danks.
