The Shoal River Formation is a geologic formation in Florida composed of sandstones and marls that preserve fossils from the Serravallian age of the Middle Miocene in the Neogene period. It is an important part of Florida’s fossil-bearing stratigraphy, especially for the evidence it preserves of marine life from that span of geologic time.
