Established in the late 1880s on land donated by George Baylis in 1882, Baylis Chapel Methodist Church is among the oldest Methodist congregations in Marion County. Its original wooden structure, built in the late 1880s, was replaced by the current church building in 1951. It has served the nearby Keno community as a place of worship, community center, and school. Land for the cemetery was donated by Luke Broom in 1888, and the earliest grave is that of George Baylis (1825-1899).
