In 1936, E. Warther sold his famous wooden pliers for five cents apiece to build this structure, which he called the Nickel Building and regarded as the best $250 he ever spent because it became the first official Warther Museum. After his son Dave constructed a larger museum in 1963, Frieda filled this space with her own collection and over the next 30 years, between the ages of 60 and 90, sewed 73,282 buttons into her designs.
