Built in June 1914 by Gordo’s first town council, this building housed Mayor Benjamin Garrison’s office, the city courtroom, and the jail. It served as Gordo’s city hall and jail until 1949. Records show it is the oldest remaining brick structure in Gordo. In 1974, the Gordo Tuesday Study Club restored it as an art gallery and museum. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on Dec. 17, 1974.
