The Leachman-Underwood House stands on the west end of the original 1824 Danville plat. The property was acquired in 1894 by William W. Leachman, the house was built in 1900, and the carriage house and stable were built in 1907. Arlando Clay Underwood was the longest owner, from 1919 to 1925 and again from 1929 to 1953, and Carrie Weakly Underwood had the longest residency, from 1929 to 1960.
