Fishers Peak is a prominent 9,633-foot mesa-like summit near Trinidad in southern Colorado and the highest point in the Ratón Mesas landscape. A spur of Ratón Mesa, it is notable not only as the highest elevation among nearby mesas but also because no point in the United States east of its longitude is higher. In 2020, Colorado Parks and Wildlife created Fishers Peak State Park on 19,200 acres around the mountain, opening the area to public use after its time as a private ranch. Together with adjoining wildlife areas and Sugarite Canyon State Park in New Mexico, it stands at the center of about 36,000 acres of contiguous protected land.
