Water first drew people here, and they have continued coming to use the soothing thermal waters for healing and relaxation. Rich and poor alike came for the baths, and a thriving city grew up around the hot springs. Together known as "The American Spa," Hot Springs National Park today surrounds the north end of the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
