Viewed from the Chautauqua Hotel looking south with the lake on the left, this once gated resort campus had tented classrooms strategically spaced along Circle Drive before other buildings were constructed for classrooms and meetings. Campus leaders erected white fencing throughout the grounds to isolate areas requiring ticketed admittance to events and classes and to keep farm animals away from guests. A similar fence formed the outer boundary of the entire campus.
