Pincushion Mountain is a peak in Minnesota’s Sawtooth Mountains overlooking the North Shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais. Near the midpoint of the county’s southern edge, where the shoreline forms the boundary, it is accessed by a hiking trail whose trailhead lies about three miles from town, with a round trip to the summit of roughly nine miles. Its significance lies in the sweeping view from the top, which takes in the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior as well as Grand Marais, its harbor, and its lighthouse.
