Attorney Carl Cardwell Poston, Jr. was a legal pioneer in the African American community and a professional giant in the Saginaw community at large. Known for great character and personal integrity, he was a dedicated servant to the city of Saginaw, practiced law there for over 40 years, and took part in many civic and public activities. He served as an assistant prosecutor in the 1960's and later served on city council and as Mayor Pro-Tem in the 1970's. From the 1950's through 1990's, he was remembered in town as a man with a smile, a cigar, and a refreshing laugh for everyone he met.
