The old Iola Kiosk stood on the southeast corner of the courthouse lawn, where for many years it displayed weather data and also served as a town bulletin board. A 1907 picture shows the structure, which contained about 3,300 pounds of cast iron and about 250 pounds of lead, with Ben McConnell standing next to it as a young man.
