Two hundred feet east of here was the Ingersoll law office. Ebon Clark Ingersoll and his younger brother, Robert Green Ingersoll, before they moved to Peoria, had a successful law practice in the Saline County Circuit Court, which met in Raleigh, the first county seat of Saline County, from 1847 to 1859.
