Joseph J. Manor, born in 1818, came to Texas from Tennessee at age twenty and eventually settled in Webberville, where he acquired land and opened a store and cotton gin. He married Caroline Scott in 1847, and she and Manor, who died in 1884, are buried here along with other early area pioneers. The cemetery also contains the graves of veterans of the War of 1812, the Texas Revolution, the Mexican War, Indian conflicts, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, some marked with national markers. Formed in 1982, an association cares for this cemetery, which preserves the lives of many area settlers and their descendants.
