S.H. Wooodruff’s resort hotel, the Dana Point Inn, was left unfinished when the stock market crash and the Great Depression halted construction and ended his dream. Part of the foundation remains, and the hand poured concrete arches survive as a local landmark. Remnants of a 1920's rock path are visible from the bridge crossing the canyon.
