The USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum in Price, Utah, preserves and interprets the deep human and natural history of eastern Utah, drawing on nearby paleontological and archaeological landscapes such as the San Rafael Swell and the Book Cliffs. Founded in 1961 through a partnership between the former College of Eastern Utah and the Price community, it expanded from a small room in the municipal building into a major research and public institution. Its collections now hold more than 750,000 prehistoric specimens, including Fremont artifacts, fossils new to science, and rock art materials, while fieldwork begun in 1990 produced 12 new dinosaur species and thousands of specimens.
