Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre sculpture park and museum in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, founded in 1992 by sculptor and philanthropist J. Seward Johnson II on the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds and Trenton Speedway site. Conceived in 1984 and opened after construction began in 1989, it was created to make contemporary sculpture accessible in an informal outdoor setting. Its evolving collection includes more than 270 works by Johnson and other American and international artists, displayed across landscaped grounds and six indoor galleries. Since 2000 it has operated as a public nonprofit corporation, combining exhibitions, educational programs, and community events as a major cultural institution.
