Nature
Cherokee Landing State Park is a 146-acre Oklahoma state park near Park Hill, south of Tahlequah, on a peninsula in Lake Tenkiller in the Cookson Hills. Built around lake recreation, it offers camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and water-skiing, with RV and primitive campsites, picnic shelters, restrooms, playgrounds, a softball field, a handicapped fishing dock, a lighted boat ramp, and a swimming beach. The main road and boat ramps stay open year-round, while some areas, restrooms, and campgrounds close seasonally. Hunting is prohibited within the park, though a nearby game management area lies west of it. Since June 15, 2020, it has charged a vehicle entrance fee to support maintenance and improvements.
