History
10
Built near Old Stage Road about 1807, Davies Manor was occupied by Logan Early Davies, James Baxter Davies, and their descendants for over a century. It was named for Zachariah Davies, a soldier of the American Revolution. In the path of both armies from 1861 to 1865, it was the scene of a dramatic episode between Frances Anna Vaughn Davies and a Union forager in 1863.
