Friona's old Santa Fe depot, built in 1908, was moved from beside the tracks to the park during the Texas sesquicentennial in 1986, and its moving, restoration, and upkeep are sponsored by the Heritage Society. The columns here were part of Friona's first brick structure, the old Friona State Bank at the corner of Main and Fifth, built in 1910 and demolished in 1995, and they were donated to the park by St. Esther's Church.
