The Portsmouth Motorcycle Club is one of the oldest in Ohio, and a group photograph associated with it was taken in 1913, with many Portsmouth residents identifying family members in the image. The motorcycle clubhouse stands at the end of the street on the right, and from early spring through summer into late fall, bikers from numerous states come to Portsmouth to have their photographs taken. Popular Portsmouth places of the twentieth century included Dreamland Pool, the clay tennis courts at Mound Park, the Turkey Shoppe, Harold's Restaurant, the Elks Country Club, Boy Scout Camp Oyo, Roosevelt Lake, Hamburger Inn, the LaRoy Theater, Girl Scout Camp Molly Lauman, the Modern Grill, and the midway at the Scioto County Fair. Alexandria Point, at the end of Front Street, overlooks the confluence of the Ohio and Scioto Rivers and is presented as a prime place to watch a red sunset, with the Carl Perkins Bridge in the background. Portsmouth's sister cities are Corby, England, Orizaba, Mexico, and Zittau, Germany, linked through a program that promotes cultural understanding and social development, and local neighborhood children and other residents were included in these scenes as part of a broader community presence in the artwork.
