Approximately 2 miles southeast is the corner of the Old Indian Boundary Line, and nearby is the original 1785 site of Lebanon Church, the Rev. Mark Moore's School, and the Grove Settlement. The church was organized in 1785 by the Rev. Mark Moore and families of Arnolds, Bowmans, Dunklins, Camps, Gores, Ragsdales, Sullivan, and Ridgeways, with property donated by Mary Charlton Sullivan. Builders of the second structure in 1832 were Rev. Barnett Babb, Benj. Camp, Wm. Mears, and Abijah Pinson, on property donated by Mrs. Hewlitt Sullivan. Trustees of the third building in 1859 were Anderson, Humbert, Latimers, McCulloughs, Ragsdales, and Sullivans, and its property conveyors and erectors were Dr. and Mrs. John Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. James Latimer, John Jerry, and Dr. James Sullivan. The Lebanon area was also home to Revolutionary soldiers and heroines including Col. Benj. Arnold, Col. Jonathan Downs, Col. Jhn. Brockman, Col. Benj. Kilgore, Col. Samuel Wharton, Col. Wm. Toney, Capt. Thos. Hamilton, Capt. George Martin, Capt. Jno. Ridgeway, Capt. Hewlet Sullivan, Lt. Jno. Camp, Lt. Wm. Choice, Lt. Jno. Calhoun, Lt. Joseph Dunklin, Lt. Oen Sullivan, Lt. James Sullivan, Sgt. Claiborn Sullivan, Sgt. Stephen Sullivan, Sgt. Peter Ragsdale, Charles Sullivan, Mary Charlton Sullivan, Pleasant Sullivan, Hendrick Arnold, Thos.
