The Anderson County Sports and Entertainment Center was created to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Anderson County and to serve both residents and visitors, with special consideration given to the needs of children and to their development as good stewards of Anderson County. Its components include the Civic Center of Anderson in 1992, Chris Taylor Memorial Park dedicated in 1998, the Anderson Sports Complex in 1999, and the Anderson County Amphitheater in 1999. The project was achieved through the vision and cooperation of Anderson County Council, Anderson City Council, area municipalities, and numerous other organizations.
