Mount David, a rocky summit in Lewiston, Maine, rises 381 feet on the Bates College campus behind Rand Hall and remains a prominent landmark for its views and local history. Originally called David's Mountain after David Davis, son of early Lewiston settler Amos Davis, it was bought by Davis in 1803 with 100 surrounding acres.
