Hart's Woods is a 14-acre protected forest in Perinton, New York, preserved as a pristine stand of beech-maple woodland. Before settlement, this type of forest covered 47 percent of Perinton, making Hart's Woods a rare and direct remnant of the area's earlier landscape. The forest grows on glacial till, soil well suited to this two-species woodland. Its ecological significance was formally recognized in June 1972 when it was designated a National Natural Landmark. Open to the public for hiking, the site is operated by the Town of Perinton Recreation and Parks Department.
