From 1775 to 1795, the Wilderness Road crossed Boone Trace here. Boone Trace was associated with Kentucky's sesquicentennial of 1792-1942. George Rogers Clark passed this way in 1776 on his way to Virginia for help for colonists. Laurel County was established in 1825, and London in 1836.
