Originally the home of Captain Kendall Cropper in 1833, this building belonged to a man who, with his three brothers, was instrumental in founding the town. Another early owner was Dr. Thomas Conrey, who bought the property from Samuel Harris, a prosperous Delaware merchant, in 1858. Over the years it also served as a tin smith's shop, a pool hall, a post office, and a gift shop. Important as a major element in the first block of Bohemia Avenue, it is one of the oldest buildings in town and grew from one room before being widened across the front in the late 19th century. In 2002 Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thomson performed a complete renovation of the building.
