Bash Bish Falls State Park occupies the far southwestern corner of Massachusetts in Mount Washington and centers on Bash Bish Falls, the state’s highest single-drop waterfall, where water plunges 60 feet. The park forms part of a broader protected landscape beside Mount Washington State Forest and near New York’s Taconic State Park. Its scenery includes steep gorges, an eastern hemlock ravine forest, and wooded slopes of maple, oak, and beech around the falls. Visitors reach the waterfall by a moderately strenuous half-mile downhill trail, with scenic viewing, hiking, and fishing as the main activities. Swimming and rock climbing are prohibited for safety.
